The ground floor

The ground floor of the castle houses the Heraldic Room (Sala degli Stemmi) and the Mantlepiece Room (Sala del Camino).

Across the ages, the castle has witnessed the coming and going of fashions and styles, transformations, neglect, and even ruin.

Since 2007, restoration work has brought to light a part of that history, revealing coats of arms, ornamental features, and decorative schemes. Where the traces of the past have been lost, a more discreet approach has been taken, showing respect for a place that, today just like yesterday, still has many stories to write and tell.
