A Visit for everyone
For the past few years, the Castle has hosted the Calm Space: a specially designed room for anyone who needs a moment of quiet or a break during their visit. By promoting relaxation and a sense of trust in the environment, this space also serves as a support for people with autism or other social interaction difficulties. In this protected room, visitors may rest, read, or breastfeed in peace.
This multisensory environment encourages pleasant experiences through sensory stimulation. Its aim is to generate positive responses, reduce tension, recharge the spirit, and support recovery. Sensory stimulation also helps boost brain activity and foster the development of new neural pathways.
The choice of blue was intentional: cool colours promote calmness and relaxation. The Calm Space has been designed and arranged to create a sense of intimacy and safety, allowing each visitor to relax, explore, and enjoy their surroundings.
The Calm Space also offers traditional books and symbol-based books for shared reading, as well as noise-cancelling headphones, allowing visitors to enjoy the museum while minimizing environmental noise.
A visit for everyone: toward a culture of inclusion.
