The Cosso Foundation

Sited in Miradolo Castle since 2008, the Cosso Foundation was established by Maria Luisa Cosso Eynard and her daughter Paola Eynard. The foundation is a private entity that works to spread the appreciation of art, music, nature, and beauty in all its expressions, to promote culture as an essential dimension for understanding the complexity of our world and ourselves.

A strategic project for the foundation has been the restoration and opening of Miradolo Castle and its historical park. Its efforts have restored to the community an essential part of its heritage, while creating a thriving cultural hub for the production and promotion of creativity and forging a meaningful link with the castle’s glorious past, in the late eighteen and early nineteen hundreds, as the cenacle for the coterie of artists that gravitated around Countess Sofia Cacherano di Bricherasio, the last owner of the estate.

Exhibitions have been a stable part of the foundation’s cultural activities ever since the beginning. Over time, however, its work has progressively expanded in scale and diversified into new fields, bringing together worldclass art exhibitions, musical productions and installations, nature education projects, community welfare initiatives, and the promotion of individual well-being.

These activities are pursued today on-site and across the local territory, focusing on five thematic areas: art, nature, music, learning, and community welfare. Our cultural production builds on a multidisciplinary approach in its experimentation and use of artistic and creative forms of expression, with diversified initiatives targeted at families, schools, disabled people, and visitors of all ages.

In this way, the historical and modern dimensions of Miradolo Castle have come together today to create a “contemporary castle,” one that is open to the community and actively engages with it. A place where heritage becomes a space for thoughtful inclusion, knowledge, and encounter.
